Taste of India – Contest Mania 2025 Guidelines

Contest Date – Saturday, March 29th 2025

Venue: Hindu Temple Of Hampton Roads

• Mandatory $5 registration fee per participant.

• Walkins NOT allowed on the day of contest.

• Eligibility Participants

  • Middle School (grades 6-8)
  • High School (grades 9-12)
• Bring your own plate/Tray for presentation.
• 6” baked yellow cake will be provided.
• Decoration will be based on a surprise theme which will be announced before the contest begins.
• The contestants will bring their own piping bags and tips if needed.
• Contestants can bring one hand made edible item that can be mixed with the icing.
• Surprise ingredients will be provided to the contestants.
• Contestants will be given 10 minutes to select the ingredients.
• Contestants will be taking the piping bags to the table of ingredients to fill out the required icing.
• Contestants will be given 15 minutes to decorate the minicake. In between, they can go back to the ingredient table to gather more stuff.
• Contestants will have to come up with a creative name for their minicake.
• Contestants will plate the minicake on their Serving plate/tray for judges.
• Judging will be based on creativity in decoration, taste, uniqueness, name and presentation.
• Judge’s decision is final.
• Committee and Judges reserve the right to cancel the contest or to present no awards or to reduce the number of awards if an insufficient number of deserving entries are received.
• Taste of India & Contest Mania reserves the right to utilize and publicize the contestant names, competition entries, photos and videos without any restriction – including website, Souvenir and media releases.
• Waiver Form Needs to be Signed.
