The Taste of India Executive Committee is responsible for oversight and coordination of all Taste of India activities. The Executive Committee develops and establishes policy, provides guidance and coordinates with all other Committee Chairs.

The Sponsorship Committee is responsible for obtaining Event Sponsors, advertisements for publication in the event souvenir, and fund raising .
Chair – Pallavi Sappati
The Cultural Committee is responsible for managing and coordinating the entire cultural program activities for the event. The committee works with the Hampton Roads community members, choreographers, professional dance troupes, and competitive college dance teams from across the nation to showcase their talent at the event. The Committee develops an exciting day-long cultural program to presents a diverse mix of performances covering all styles of Indian dance including classical ( like Bharatnatyam and Kathak ), folk , Bollywood, College Bhangra Dance Competition, fusion dance., yoga demonstrations and singers.
Chair – Kavitha Sri Hathwar
The Decorations Committee is responsible for managing all decorations for the event,. The Committee develops a decorations theme for each event, selects and procures a professional decorator, coordinates with the professional decorator , obtains volunteers from the Hampton Roads community to assist with the decorations and provides oversight and coordination for all decorations related activities.
CONTEST MANIA COMMITTEE
Chair – Jigisha Reddy
The Contest Mania Committee is responsible for developing , managing and coordinating all Taste of India contests for children and adults. The committee creates and holds various competiions, for example, Art, Quiz, Essay, Carrom, etc. before the event for which the winners are announced during the Taste of India event. The committee organizes various competitions during the event – e.g., Rangoli ( colored sand art), Science Fair, Lego, etc. The committe agrressively engages with the community and the school systems from all areas of Hampton Roads to encourage young kids, teens and adults to participate in the competitions. The participants learn Indian culture, sportsmanship, creativity, teamwork and a good work ethic. They also have fun while competing for recognition and well deserved prizes!
Chair – Devendra Kumar
The Audiovisual committee is responsible for managing and coordinating all audio and visual equipment and arrangements for the event. The committee determines the audio visual requirements in consultation with the Cultural Committee, selects the audiovisual equipment providers, anprovides oversight and coordinates all stage nsound and lighting during the event. This committee works closely with the Cultural Committee. committees.
Chair – Pradip Patel
The Food Committee is responsible for managing all the food and drink preparation and sales for the entire event. The Committee develops the food and drinks menu and prices, coordinates with all Hampton Roads area Indian restaurants, other food vendors, and the numerous volunteers who assist with the food preparation and serving. The committee assigns food booths and ensures the quality and quantity of all food and drinks for consumption during the event. Please contact the Chair to participate in this committee, volunteer to prepare or serve food, offer menu suggestions or discuss any food related issues/questions.
The committee is responsible for all Photography activity and Works closely with all of the other committees.
This committee is responsible for the publications of the Event Souvenir,which includes the SPONSORS advertisement, messages from VIP’s, PICTURE GALLERY from previous events, articles related to Indian heritage, lists of ASIAN INDIAN professionals in the Hampton Roads area.
This committee manages all public relations relation activities for the event including media relations, outreach to community and event advertising. The committee also manages invitations, scheduling, coordination and hosting of elected officials, sponsors and VIPs.
This committee is responsible for managing the event operations and providing all supplies required for the event. This committee provides significant support to the Food Committee
This committee is responsible for the selling of food tickets during the event and door prizes. The sale of food tickets includes helping customers make decisions, the use of a credit card for a transaction, and keeping track of the number of tickets sold. The door prize jobs include obtaining prizes, giving out prize tickets, and announcing winners of the prizes. The staff should be helpful, charismatic, and quick-thinking
This committee is responsible for managing all exhibition and vendor booths – including booths for all retail vendors, services vendors, civic organizations, charities, sponsors and volunteers. The committee manages the booth sizes/cost, booth layout, booth contract, vendor solicitation and registration, booth assignments, and all booth related arrangements. Note that Food/drinks booths are managed by Food Committee and Ticket Booths are managed by Tickets Committee
The committee is responsible for all volunteer activity and Works closely with all of the other committees.

Vishal Reddy, Neel Kaloji
Formed in 2010, the youth organizational committee is tasked with running the door prize operation, operating a ticket booth, and Facebook advertising and integration. They also organize many of the youth volunteers for Taste of India.
